Kaithi

When Sholay meets Operation Daybreak, it's wolf whistle all the way.

Remember Sanjeev Kumar, in the opening scene with a handcuffed Amitabh and Dharmender, taking on the attack of the dacoits. You cannot help observing the similarity with Naren taking an army of goons with the help of Karthi, the 'Kaidi'.

Remember the two  young soldiers holed up in the cellar of Church ( if my memory serves me right), taking on the entire German army. What a wonderful adaptation of this situation in Kaidi.

Lokesh Kanagaraj, in his second directorial venture beautifully demonstrates the absence of Revenge as a motive, enables a joyous viewing.

Sentimentality is an essential ingredient in the right measure, like salt, to keep the Masala quotient at the right level.

I believe that Lokesh planned this movie with Mansoor Ali Khan in mind as the lorry driver. Well Karthi, brings in charisma and a finesse that does the movie a world of good.

Lokesh, always seems to be constantly concerned about how the audience will react. I could not help smiling at the mischievous choice of the weapon in the climax.

There seems to be a prequel to this movie and I do not seem to be in a mood to complain

Forget all your worries, watch this fun filled ride and have a glorious Deepavali.

Happy Deepavali to all of you.
