A meta movie, reminded you of Kamal's 'Uthama Villain' in some ways and Sujatha's novel, 'Kanavu Thozirsalai' wirtten in early 80s or late 70s.
This well made movie, will earn Di Caprio another best actor nomination.
The movie is a bit lengthy and has a few of Tarentino's quirky sequences. The genius of Tarentino surfaces, especially in the DiCaprio's interaction with the precocious 8 year old actor.
The vulnerable DiCaprio is a treat to watch, and is a reflection of DiCaprio's guts and Tarentino's integrity.
The uber cool Brad Pitt was most agreeable. Again the character has been so beautifully carved.
I strongly believe that Tarentino must have been a sculptor in his previous birth.
He 'sculpts' his movie with great diligence.
Having said, this movie is a disappointment.
The movie was marketed as a movie based on Mansion Housed Murders and then there where characters thrown in to reconfirm the initial marketing. This seems to be a gimmick, which works tangentially to the core theme of the movie and therefore the climax( enjoyable as a separate module) is major let down.
Misdirecting the audience and taking the audience for granted is something, I would not expect a respected film maker like Tarentino to do.
But the most disappointing portion of the movie, has to be, depicting Bruce Lee like a caricature. Absolutely unacceptable.
Here is hoping that Tarentino finishes his tenth movie with a flourish.
