The best entertainer of the year is all Style, Swag and  Substance

Over the last several years, Hollywood films in India have been essentially restricted to Super Hero Movies, Horror movies, Kids movies, Action flicks like the Bond/Mission Impossible movies or probably a few weeks  of Oscar probables. A lot of good mainstream Hollywood do not make it. 

Thankfully, Ford Vs Ferrari makes it to the Indian markets. Easily the best entertainer of the year. The conflict between Ford and Ferrari, and their fight for supremacy at the 24 hours of Leman's( world's oldest active sports car race in endurance racing, held annually since 1923 near the town of Le Mans, France. It is considered one of the most prestigious automobile races in the world and has been called the "Grand Prix of Endurance and Efficiency") , is narrated in an most elegant manner, without any clutter. 

The story telling is fascinating, keeping the right balance between the human drama and the sporting spectacle. A generous dose  of engineering and design gets easily ingested in a narrative that has its heart in the right place.

Christain Bale, reminds you so much of Robert Shaw. The body language and intensity of Bale makes Ken Miles come alive.

I particularly liked the poignant ending. I have several times wondered, how the wooden faced Matt Damon emotes. Damon dazzles in the climax, choking the audience, without an iota of sentimentality.
