Unlimited inspiration
Last time I was theatre alone with my wife was while watching Home. Alone way back in 1991 in Dallas. Thirty years later got to watch Westside story 2021, with her and 8 others at IMAX at Forum Mall.
On the eve of the music season in Chennai, the lack of endorsement of an extraordinary musical is astonishing. But looks like the box office for Westside story is universally poor. Rather sad for a spectacular effort.
I continue to be inspired by Spielberg. The sheer diligence and detail orientation is inspiring . 100 million dollars in making. The sets are a faithful recreation of its original. The timeless story of love, hatred and the futility of identity is narrated with such great simplicity. It is just impossible for your heart not to be wrenched.
Janus kaminski the cinematographer to me is the hero of the film, your heart flutters along with his camera movement and you are awe struck at those finitely infinite camera angles.
I am sure the movie will be nominated for several oscars and revisit the halls.
Do not miss it for the world
