10/21, #Lockdownenrichmentforthesoul, Tamil Movie Recommendation

Thooral ninnu Pochu, K. Bhagyaraj, 1982, Streaming on Youtube.

What would Tamil Cinema be without Bhagyaraj?

Is it the mischievousness, is it the innocence, is it the mischievousness and innocence or is it the mischievousness of the innocence?

This man certainly knows how to narrate a story laced with abundant humour ( Wish he had avoided those double meaning dialogues)

Thooral Ninnu Pochu, the title, must be inspired from Much Ado about Nothing. Make no mistake, Bhagyaraj is extremely well read. When I saw Vidyum Varai Kathiru, I was stunned as it was based on a short story, ( A complete Rip Off) in my CBSE, XII Non- detailed short story, The Extra Passenger, by August Dereleth.

In Thooral Ninnu Pochu, you will see, how beautifully he adapts, the Anajaneya character, in Nambiyar. It is a treat to watch Nambiyar, as a messenger, in a posture reminding of Anjaneya.

Thooral Ninnu Pochu must be one of the few films, where the 5 principal characters are introduced as the credit rolls out and the premise and the hints of the conflict are all established by the end of the credits.

The movie must rank as one of the best Village RomComs made and is a much cleaner version of Bhagyaraj films. Darling Darling Darling must be the one of the few movies without his double meaning dialogues.

Watch it. I assure you that Covid will be in Outerspace.
