Before my brief note on these movies and on Mahendran.
I have missed S.S. Vasan and Sridhar. I saw Nenjil Oru Alayama after Thilana Mohanambal and decided not to write about it during these times, since that magnificent movie was overflowing with grief and certainly not need during these times. Sridhar is one of those directors who was one of the first Tamil directors who understood the grammar of cinema so well. His body of work is prolific and you can choose to see his work which suits your mood.
SS Vasan taught Indian cinema, what "Brahmandam" was. Young children will benefit seeing "Avaiyar". You can also catch up with Chandralekha, Vanjikottai Valiban and other works of his.
Coming to today's movies. One of them was just before Aval appadithan and the other was after.
Both these movies are timeless.
So much to learn, so much to enjoy and so much to be in awe.
